Student Mentor Program

We are very proud of our Student Mentor Program, which started in 2010.  This program has included middle school and high school aged students.  This year Sixth Grade Students at Horseshoe Trails Elementary School who deem themselves worthy of a leadership role, as demonstrated by a submitted essay and answers to character questions, partner with adult support staff to model the Six Pillars of Character to younger students.

Students immediately become fond of their mentors. The relationship and communication between our mentors and younger students is tangibly different than between an adult and student.  The win-win of a student achieving community service hours while another benefits from added safety and enthusiasm during horsemanship classes is readily evident.

We invite all sixth graders to apply for the Student Mentor Program.

Applications are available in September for each school year.
